In Jewish faith, Purim is a religious event that encourages the exchange of gifts and donations to those less fortunate. While considered a nonreligious custom, the baking of a three-cornered pastry, known as hamantaschen, plays an important role for children and adults alike.

For the Dough:
2 cups all purpose flour, leveled
½ tspn baking powder
¼ tspn salt
1 stick unsalted butter, softened
1 cup sugar, leveled
1 large egg
1 large egg yolk
2 tspn vanilla extract
For the Chocolate Filling:
3 tbspn unsalted butter
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, finely chopped
2 scoops LOCKrx DEFENSE Chocolate Mint
1/3 cup sugar
¾ tsp vanilla extract
1/8 tspn salt
1 large egg
1 tbspn all purpose flour
Directions:
Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, beat sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Beat in egg, egg yolk, and vanilla. Using low speed, beat in flour, scraping down bowl as needed. Scrape dought onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth. Divid dough into 2 pieces and form into two 6-inch discs. Wrap each in plastic wrap until firm (4 hours).
For the Filling: Melt butter in microwave. Add chopped chocolate and stir until chocolate melts and is incorporated. Mixture may be melted in microwave until desired consistency is reached. Stir in sugar, LOCKrx DEFENSE, and salt. Add egg and stir until ingredients are incorporated. Stir in flour and beat for 30 seconds. Cover and Refrigerate.
Preheat oven to 350. Line two Baking sheets with parchment paper. Working with one disc of dough at a time, remove from refrigerator and roll out once it reaches room temperature. Place dough on floured work service and knead to soften. Roll to an 1/8 inch Use a cookie cutter or glass to cut 3 inch circles, placing them ½ inch apart on baking sheet. Scoop chocolate filling in center of each cookie. Bring 3 sides of each cookie to partially cover filling and firmly punch edges to seal corners and form a triangle. Place in freezer for 10-15 minutes. Once firm, bake for 12 minutes until lightly golden around the edges. Let cool and transfer to a rack to cool
